Offered is „BAT REX II PRE Röhrenvorstufe mit separatem Netzteil“ by Balanced Audio Technology as second-hand device from the category „Pre-Amplifier / Processor“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 6088789836 ends on 27.11.2026 at 16:36 o'clock.
This one lands in a good spot timing-wise: it’s a mature, statement-level BAT preamp rather than a current model, so value is about condition, completeness, and whether the platform still fits your system. At €9,990, it sits clearly below the €13,155 median and even under the €8,409 lower quartile is not far off, so this reads as a strong buy rather than a merely fair ask.
The REX II is well regarded for its big, relaxed, fully balanced presentation, serious drive, and the sense of scale that BAT’s dual-chassis, transformer-coupled designs are known for. The separate power supply is a real part of the appeal, and in good condition that makes this a compelling buy for someone wanting a no-compromise tube linestage. Just make sure the remote, umbilicals, and any service history are included, since those matter more here than cosmetic fussiness.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Balanced Audio Technology (BAT) emerged in 1995 in the United States, founded by Steve Bednarski, Victor Khomenko, and Geoff Poor—engineers united by a passion for superior sound reproduction. From its inception, BAT distinguished itself through innovative balanced circuit topology, a design that inherently rejects noise and safeguards signal integrity, setting the stage for its enduring pursuit of audio purity.
The brand specializes in ultra-high-end components, including fully balanced tube and solid-state power amplifiers, preamplifiers, and phono preamps. Hand-built in a dedicated U.S. facility by skilled craftsmen, these products prioritize meticulous engineering to preserve the original signal's natural beauty, eschewing speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables in favor of core amplification excellence.
BAT commands a revered position in the high-end hi-fi market, catering to discerning audiophiles worldwide across over 40 countries. With a 25-year legacy of uncompromising performance, it embodies niche boutique prestige, where balanced architecture delivers unmatched transparency and dynamics for those seeking reference-level systems.
