This is a buyer’s market for the AV35 right now: US$150 sits below the rough middle of recent used asking prices, where working consoles commonly show up around US$160–US$230, with some complete or tested examples climbing higher. That makes this listing look like a fair-to-good buy rather than a stretch, especially if it includes the remote and power cord.
The AV35 is well-liked because it’s a clean control console for Bose Lifestyle systems: easy setup, solid switching, and the usual Bose convenience for people who already want that ecosystem. At US$150, the upside is best when it’s tested, comes with the right accessories, and isn’t missing the remote, since that’s where value can soften fast.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
