Up for sale is a complete powerhouse set of PrimaLuna KT88 vacuum tubes, perfect for anyone looking to re-tube a heavy-hitting power amplifier or integrated amp (such as the PrimaLuna EVO series). This package includes a matched octet (8 tubes) that have seen very little action and are barely bro...
Buyer’s market for this category right now. At A$750, this sits well below the A$1,270 25th percentile and is a genuine bargain against a A$3,047 median and A$4,059 75th percentile, so it looks like strong value rather than a stretched ask.
The appeal here is straightforward: PrimaLuna’s KT88 Silver Label tubes are well regarded for clean, lively sound and are a sensible upgrade or spare set for owners who want a known-good, matched quad from a respected brand. If the listing is truly lightly used and tests well, the upside is excellent at this price. I’d just want clarity on exact hours, matching, and whether the seller can verify emission/current balance, since tube condition matters more than cosmetics.

PrimaLuna, a boutique Dutch hi-fi brand, emerged in 2003 from the vision of Herman van den Dungen, a seasoned industry veteran with over 40 years of experience. Born in the Netherlands, van den Dungen had built his reputation earlier through Durob Audio, founded in 1975 as one of the first high-end importers in the Benelux region. Drawing on decades of tinkering with vintage radios and turntables, he launched PrimaLuna to democratize elite tube amplification, blending European design ingenuity with rigorous quality oversight in Chinese manufacturing.
The brand specializes exclusively in vacuum tube amplifiers, including integrated, power, and preamplifier models across series like ProLogue, DiaLogue, and EVO. PrimaLuna's hallmark is its unique construction—point-to-point wiring, custom transformers, and tube rectification—prioritizing sonic purity, longevity, and minimal servicing needs over broader categories like speakers, DACs, or turntables.
Positioned as high-end yet accessible, PrimaLuna occupies a niche among tube enthusiasts, earning acclaim for delivering "joyous cost-value surprises" through reliable, musically engaging performance that rivals pricier competitors. Its reputation for dependability and superb sound has solidified its status among discerning audiophiles worldwide, underscoring Dutch precision in a crowded market.
