This is a halo-level source component and a serious statement piece in any reference system. At £138,000, it looks ambitious versus the recent used market: it’s above the £14,040 median and even above the very high £118,416 75th percentile, so this is not a bargain-level ask.
What makes it interesting is the reputation: the Atlantis Reference is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished digital sources ever built, prized for natural tone, ease, and a big, uncannily unforced presentation. An excellent-condition example is the right kind of listing to chase if the boxes, PSU, cables, and service history are all in order; at this level, completeness and provenance matter as much as cosmetics.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Wadax is a Spanish high-end audio brand based in Madrid, founded in 2006. The company is closely associated with Angel Guadalajara and the Guadalajara family’s engineering background, and it has built its identity around advanced digital playback rather than broad-category hi-fi manufacturing.
The brand is best known for digital sources and related electronics: DACs, transports, clocking, power supplies, and associated cables. Its product line has centered on ultra-premium digital front ends, with recent offerings such as the Studio Player collection reinforcing that focus. Wadax is not primarily an amplifier, speaker, turntable, or headphone brand.
In the market, Wadax sits firmly in the ultra-high-end boutique segment. It is aimed at serious audiophiles who want state-of-the-art digital performance and are prepared to pay for it, with pricing and positioning that place it well above mainstream high-end. Its reputation is for engineering ambition, luxurious execution, and a very narrow but highly specialized niche in digital replay.
