PS Audio Airlens streamer up for sale. The unit is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. From the PS Audio website:The AirLens™ interface brings perfection to streamingStreaming audio via Roon or other services like Qobuz, Tidal, and Spotify offers millions of titles at the touch of a finger. Unfortunately, connecting your sensitive DAC to the noise generated by computers, routers, NAS, local networks, and modems via either WiFi or Ethernet cable is not a great-sounding solution to bringing high-performance audio into your listening environment. The PS Audio AirLens™ completely eliminates the problems of noise, jitter, and EMI influences through complete galvanic isolation and perfect reclocking of the digital audio signal. You’ve not yet heard how great streaming can sound until you experience audio through the AirLens.DesignWhether you stream network music through Roon, Audirvana, JRiver, Tidal Direct, Spotify, your NAS, or any DLNA-compatible server, you will introduce unwanted noise into your sensitive DAC. A USB connection to the computer is by far the noisiest method, followed by a close second via Ethernet or WiFi. What is needed to completely remove this injurious noise is the elimination of any electrical connection between the computer, its network, and your DAC. The PS Audio AirLens has both an input stage and a galvanically isolated reclocking output stage. The two are connected only "through the air." By using separate power supplies, there are no physical ground or signal connections, ensuring 100% isolation and noise-free delivery of perfect digital audio signals.
This is a strong deal at US$900, sitting roughly half the six-listing median of US$1,941 and well below the 25th-percentile US$1,799. Even allowing for the unknown condition, that is bargain territory for a current, purpose-built network transport.
The AirLens is a worthwhile buy for a system with a separate DAC: its galvanic isolation and reclocking are designed to reduce network noise and jitter, while Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, DLNA, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi provide useful flexibility. It outputs via coaxial or I²S and supports high-resolution PCM and DSD, though there is no USB output or onboard storage. At this price, confirm it powers up, joins the network, and includes the original power cable; if those basics check out, this looks like an excellent opportunity.

PS Audio, a pioneering American hi-fi brand, traces its roots to 1973 when co-founder Paul McGowan launched the company in California alongside Stan Warren. Emerging from the analog golden age, it debuted with a standalone phono preamplifier, reflecting McGowan's early passion for vinyl playback honed through radio station connections and encounters with audio enthusiasts. The brand quickly evolved, embracing digital audio in the 1980s by releasing one of the first high-end CD players, the PS Audio CD-1, soon after Philips and Sony introduced the format.
Today, PS Audio specializes in premium electronics, including power amplifiers, preamplifiers, digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and integrated amplifiers, with a hallmark focus on power conditioning via innovative AC regenerators known as Power Plants. These devices, born from Stan Warren's mid-1980s discovery that oversized transformers enhance audio performance, remain a cornerstone. The lineup also encompasses digital lenses for refining streaming and disc playback, alongside select analog components, though it eschews speakers, headphones, turntables, or cables.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, PS Audio commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its bold engineering and unwavering pursuit of musical purity. Celebrating 50 years in 2023, it occupies a niche as an innovator rather than a mass-market player, appealing to buyers who prioritize transformative power delivery and digital refinement in sophisticated systems.
