Storm Audio IS Fusion 20 Heimkino Hifi High End

Fusion Research is a niche boutique brand in the custom integration and digital audio space, founded in 2003 by a team of successful entrepreneurs passionate about digital entertainment systems. Headquartered in Northern California with engineering offices in Maryland, the company emerged from expertise in digital imaging, audio processing, storage, networking, and control protocols. This American outfit quickly carved a focused path in the residential and commercial AV markets, leveraging open IP-based products to address emerging demands for seamless media handling.

The brand specializes in high-performance music servers and media controllers, most notably its Ovation series, which deliver robust streaming capabilities independent of legacy platforms like MySqueezebox. Products like the Ovation Duet and Summit OS servers support direct integrations with services such as Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, and TIDAL, alongside pioneers like DTS Play-Fi for wireless speaker control. Fusion also ventured into commercial applications with SoundMachine, an affordable, controllable music server tailored for public spaces, emphasizing reliability in networked environments over traditional hi-fi categories like amplifiers, speakers, or analog sources.

Positioned as a specialist in the custom install market, Fusion Research holds a strong reputation among professional integrators for durable, future-proof digital audio solutions rather than consumer high-end hi-fi. It's not a vintage collector's darling or broad-spectrum audiophile marque but a go-to for sophisticated, controllable streaming in upscale homes and businesses, thriving on technical innovation amid volatile media landscapes.
