The timing matters slightly: the QC 45 is a 2021 generation now replaced by Bose’s newer QuietComfort model, but it remains a very capable, comfortable ANC headphone. At €100, this is a strong deal—well below the €151 median and even under the €96 lower-quartile boundary only by a small margin, placing it near the bargain end of 1,148 comparable listings.
Its appeal is straightforward: excellent long-haul comfort, effective noise cancellation, dependable multipoint Bluetooth, USB-C charging, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Fresh replacement pads are a worthwhile bonus, since worn cushions are the main cosmetic and comfort issue on older examples. Confirm that the case, charging cable, and audio lead are included, and check battery performance and ANC operation, but at this price a clean, fully working pair is an easy recommendation.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
