Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Age and generation do not materially hurt this listing: the NT-USB remains a capable plug-and-play USB condenser, and €145 for an excellent example with the PSA1 arm is a strong deal. Against 225 recent comparable listings, that sits well below the €81–€153 middle market spread and only modestly above the €103 median, while the complete arm bundle adds meaningful practical value.

The microphone is well regarded for clean, detailed speech and vocals without requiring an interface, making it especially useful for podcasting, streaming, voiceover, and home recording. The PSA1 is a worthwhile inclusion rather than filler: it improves positioning, reduces desk vibration, and saves the cost and hassle of buying a suitable boom arm separately. Provided the USB connection, capsule, controls, and arm joints operate properly, this looks like a buy-now listing rather than one needing negotiation.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About RØDE

RØDE Microphones traces its roots to 1967, when Henry Freedman, a London-born sound engineer, and his Swedish wife Astrid founded Freedman Electronics in Australia after emigrating from Europe. Their son Peter, inspired by a Chinese large-diaphragm condenser microphone spotted at a 1981 Shanghai trade show, imported and refined it into the NT1 in the early 1990s, formally launching the RØDE brand—its distinctive 'Ø' nodding to the family's Scandinavian heritage. From modest PA installations, the company evolved into a global force, acquiring Event Electronics in 2006 and Mackie in 2023.

The brand excels in professional and consumer microphones, particularly condensers like the NT1 and NT2 series, alongside dynamic models such as the Podcaster and Procaster tailored for broadcasting and podcasting. RØDE also produces video microphones, USB interfaces, and accessories, with manufacturing rooted in Australia using locally sourced metals. While not focused on traditional hi-fi categories like amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables, its audio gear bridges studio, content creation, and live sound.

RØDE holds a strong mid-tier position in the pro audio market, prized by podcasters, filmmakers, and engineers for reliable, high-value performance that rivals pricier competitors. Its Australian-made quality and innovative accessibility have built a loyal following among knowledgeable creators seeking pro-grade tools without boutique premiums, cementing its reputation as a modern essential rather than vintage or high-end esoterica.
