Compared with buying a new broadcast mic at this money, this is a sensible used-market option, though €160 is just above the 75th-percentile asking price of €154 from 140 comparable listings. It is therefore a little ambitious rather than a bargain; €107 is the median, and €91 marks the lower quartile. “Excellent” condition and a complete accessory set would need to be genuine to justify paying the premium.
The M 70 PRO X is a well-regarded dynamic XLR microphone for clear, upfront speech, with useful room rejection and good resistance to plosives. Its speech-focused voicing suits podcasting, streaming and voice work particularly well, while the included shock mount, pop filter and bag add real value. If everything is present and clean, it is a capable, durable buy—but at €160, negotiating toward €140–€150 would make the proposition notably stronger.

Beyerdynamic traces its roots to 1924 Berlin, where engineer Eugen Beyer founded Elektrotechnische Fabrik Eugen Beyer to produce cinema loudspeakers for the dawn of sound films. Born in St. Petersburg in 1903, Beyer relocated amid the Russian Revolution, pioneering dynamic drivers that defined early audio reproduction. Post-World War II destruction forced a rebuild in Heilbronn in 1948, with his son Fred R. Beyer steering the family-owned firm through decades of innovation until its 2025 acquisition by China's Cosonic Intelligent, marking the end of a century-long German heritage.
The brand excels in headphones and microphones, launching the DT 48 in 1937 as the world's first dynamic headphones—a staple for sound engineers until 2012. It expanded into wireless systems, conference tech, and professional monitoring gear, serving studios, broadcast, film, and now gaming. While early efforts included amplifiers and loudspeakers, Beyerdynamic prioritizes transducers over consumer amps, DACs, turntables, speakers, or cables.
Renowned for durable, reference-grade professional audio, Beyerdynamic occupies a solid mid-to-high-end niche, blending accessible pricing with studio precision that appeals to creators and audiophiles. Its century of milestones—from micing royalty to touring icons—cements a reputation for reliability and sonic purity among discerning hi-fi buyers seeking tools that endure.
