Compared with buying a newer mid-market DAC at this money, this is a genuinely strong used price: GBP 1,486 sits well above the GBP 720 median and GBP 1,050 75th percentile, so it is ambitious rather than a bargain. The “Mint” condition helps, but the premium needs to be justified by complete accessories, proof of ownership, and remaining warranty.
The DAC-Z10 is a serious, unusually versatile front end: dual-mono conversion, balanced and single-ended preamp outputs, analogue inputs, headphone amplification, HDMI ARC/eARC, AES, I2S and USB, with support up to PCM 768kHz and DSD512. It can replace several boxes and is especially compelling in a balanced system or with active speakers. At GBP 1,486, buy only if the mint condition is verifiable and the full package is present; otherwise, negotiate toward the GBP 1,050–1,200 range.
