Seller's Description

Bowers & Wilkins 800 Diamond (D2) Floorstanding Loudspeakers For sale are my beautiful B&W 800 Diamond (D2) speakers. They look and sound immaculate. I have been running them with Macintosh and Audio Research and both work like a treat. I have the boxes.  Open to reasonable offer and I would also consider trade + cash with a Class A amp like Pass Labs Int-25, Luxman 550/590 axii or Pass Labs XA25.   Condition: Excellent Payment Method: Cash on pickup, EFT Region/State: (VIC) Victoria/Australia By DutchNote 3 Comments   AUD $17,500 Date: October 25, 20241 yr

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Compared with a new pair of big-ticket reference towers at this level, A$17,500 is good value for an 800 Diamond in excellent condition, not a stretch. The closest used Australian data I found shows one excellent-condition listing at A$13,900, while new pricing for the model family has sat around A$29,000 per pair, so this ask is above the low end but still comfortably within sensible used territory for a top-tier flagship.

That’s why this is a strong buy if the setup is right: the 800 Diamond is one of B&W’s most respected statement speakers, built for scale, imaging, and serious resolution rather than mere bass weight. In excellent condition, the main upside is getting a true flagship into the room for far less than new, and if it comes with original grilles, packaging, and documented ownership, that adds real confidence. Do check the diamond tweeters, woofers, and cabinet edges carefully, but at this price the listing reads as a legitimate opportunity.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Bowers & Wilkins

Bowers & Wilkins, the esteemed British hi-fi brand, traces its origins to 1966 in Worthing, West Sussex, when John Bowers founded the company with a £10,000 bequest from a satisfied customer, Miss Knight, who admired his hobby-crafted loudspeakers. Previously, Bowers and Roy Wilkins had run an electronics rental shop after meeting in the British Army during World War II. This fortuitous legacy fueled Bowers' obsession with acoustic perfection, launching the P1 as their inaugural product and establishing a foundation of relentless innovation in speaker design.

The brand excels in premium loudspeakers across categories like floorstanders, bookshelves, and studio monitors, with iconic lines such as the 600 Series for accessible excellence and the legendary 801, adopted as Abbey Road Studios' reference in 1979. They also produce high-end headphones like the P5 and Zeppelin, formation audio systems, and select electronics, prioritizing driver technology, cabinetry, and precise engineering over amplifiers, turntables, or cables.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Bowers & Wilkins commands reverence among discerning audiophiles and professionals for its clarity, musical truth, and uncompromised fidelity. A staple in both consumer and studio environments, it embodies British precision engineering, blending heritage with cutting-edge research to sustain its status as a benchmark for premium audio excellence.
