Generating expert take…
Soekris is a small Danish audio company founded in 2001 by Søren Kristensen, who has a background in network, communications, and embedded-computer design and brought that technical expertise into high-end audio. The brand presents itself as a designer and manufacturer of audio products sold worldwide.
Soekris is best known for DACs and related digital-audio hardware, especially its discrete R-2R sign-magnitude designs. Its catalog has also included DAC/amp units and DIY-oriented DAC boards, which points to a company focused on conversion architecture rather than broad-line audio categories like speakers, turntables, or headphones.
In the market, Soekris sits firmly in the niche boutique / high-end specialist tier. It is not a mass-market hi-fi brand; instead, it appeals to technically minded enthusiasts who care about converter design, measurements, and a more engineering-driven approach to sound.
