New pricing is difficult to establish because this appears to be a discontinued niche accessory rather than a current Audio Physic product. At €299, though, it is plainly a bargain against the nine-comparable used market: it sits well below the €463 25th-percentile mark and €512 median, making this a strong deal if the item is correctly identified and working.
The appeal is its rarity: Audio Physic’s demagnetizer has a small but dedicated following among vinyl enthusiasts who value it for reducing residual magnetism in cartridges and related analogue components. An excellent-condition example at this price is worth serious consideration, particularly with its original packaging, instructions, and correct power supply. The main thing to verify is exactly what is included and that it powers up normally; beyond that, there is little reason to push back at €299.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Audio Physic, a German loudspeaker specialist, was founded in 1985 in Brilon, Sauerland, by Joachim Gerhard and Willi Hegener (also referenced as Wilhelm Hegener). Dissatisfied with prevailing speaker designs, Gerhard modified units like the ProAc Tablette, leading to their debut Tempo bookshelf model and rapid acclaim. The 1989 Avanti flagship cemented their breakthrough, earning international praise in The Absolute Sound and establishing a signature style of compact, elegantly finished speakers with audiophile precision. Handcrafted in their Brilon facility to this day, the brand remains one of Germany's few remaining loudspeaker makers, sourcing locally for quality control.
The company focuses exclusively on high-end loudspeakers, eschewing amplifiers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables. Their portfolio spans bookshelf, floorstanding, and statement models, renowned for innovations like downward-firing bass drivers—a hallmark from the Avanti—and vibration-damping techniques via 3D printing. Developers like Gerhard, dubbed "the Magician," and current chief Manfred Diestertich prioritize detail retrieval, expansive soundstaging, and dynamic resolution.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Audio Physic commands respect among discerning audiophiles for "no loss of fine detail," blending living-room-friendly designs with reference-level performance. Over four decades, they've evolved from garage origins to global benchmarks in resolution and musicality, appealing to buyers seeking German engineering's obstinate pursuit of sonic truth.
