The Teufel M 200 is a notable vintage design, but €659 is far beyond the normal used market. Your five comparable listings put the median at €156, with the 75th percentile at €216; even allowing for excellent condition, this asking price is exceptionally ambitious rather than a sensible buy.
What makes the M 200 worthwhile is its sturdy closed-box construction, wide-dispersion grille design, capable handling, and unusually engaging presentation when properly positioned. It can still make a fine vintage monitor, particularly with a suitable amplifier and stands, but age means the drivers, surrounds, crossover components, terminals, and cabinet condition deserve careful inspection. At €659, the listing would need genuinely exceptional provenance, original accessories, and near-collector condition to justify consideration; otherwise, look for a clean pair closer to €150–€220.

Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
