Seller's Description

This DI Box is a fully warrantied item in perfect working condition we just got directly from Samson. This DI Box has the full factory warranty, comes in the box, and it is ready to go. It’s just cheaper because it was a B stock items from the warehouse. Save big on a like new, fully warrantied product!

The Samson Tech S-MAX MD1 Single Channel Passive Direct Box features an all-metal, impact resistant construction to provide high-quality signal connection solutions for live and studio applications.

The box features the company's STL transformer, which allows you to send your instrument and amp signals to the main mixing board with confidence. The unit provides a parallel Thru and Balanced Output to simultaneously route your signal to an onstage amplifier and mixer. The STL transformer gives the unit a flat frequency response that will maintain the natural sound of your instrument and provide isolation from electrical and RF interference.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Are you looking for a dependable, no-power DI at a bargain price? At US$50, this is a strong deal: it sits just above the recent comparable listings’ 25th-percentile US$48, but well below the US$80 median and US$119 75th percentile. For a B-stock unit, that is attractive value rather than merely fair pricing, assuming it is complete and functional.

The MD1 is a straightforward passive direct box with a useful Thru connection, balanced XLR output, ground lift, and a rugged steel chassis. Its transformer-based design is intended to preserve a natural signal while helping reject hum and interference, and it needs neither battery nor phantom power. Check that the XLR and 1/4-inch jacks are firm, the ground-lift switch works, and any B-stock blemish is cosmetic; at US$50, minor cabinet wear is easy to overlook.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Samson

Samson Technologies was founded in 1980 in the United States and built its name first in wireless microphone systems. Its early history is tied to pro-audio innovation rather than consumer hi-fi, and the brand has remained focused on practical, affordable audio tools for musicians, broadcasters, podcasters, and creators.

Today, Samson is best known for microphones, wireless systems, portable PA gear, studio monitors, mixers, headphones, and accessories. It is not primarily a turntable, DAC, or high-end loudspeaker brand, and those products are not central to its identity. The company’s strongest association is with accessible recording and live-sound equipment, especially USB microphones and entry-level studio and streaming gear.

In the market, Samson sits in the entry-level to mid-tier professional-audio segment rather than the high-end hi-fi world. Its reputation is for value, convenience, and broad utility rather than audiophile prestige or boutique craftsmanship. For buyers, it is best understood as a dependable mainstream brand for functional audio hardware, not a vintage-collector name or luxury hi-fi maker.
