The C47 is a well-regarded, versatile McIntosh preamplifier/DAC, and US$2,870 is a strong deal against the recent used market. It lands exactly at the 25th-percentile asking price, well below the US$3,149 median and beneath the US$3,250 75th percentile, so the price has genuine buyer appeal if the unit is as represented.
Its appeal is the unusually complete feature set: flexible analogue inputs, competent digital connectivity, McIntosh’s familiar build quality, and the brand’s robust system-matching flexibility. At this money, it is a particularly attractive way into the C47 without paying the market’s typical premium. Since the listing gives no condition detail, confirm clean operation across every input, display and control, and check that the remote, power cord, and any original accessories are included before committing.
