Seller's Description

Primare R32 Phono Preamplifier Hello, First time selling here. I purchased this amazing sounding Primare R32 phono pre from another member on this forum. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite fit my cabinet and I have not been able to find an alternative cabinet that fits my space and can take the weight of records/ equipment. I have had the Primare checked by JZ services to confirm both MC and Mm inputs are working correctly (no parts changed/ checking functionality only) . Comes with power cord. Can show it working. I will open up the next add to east coast buyers if I have no local interest. Condi

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Primare’s R32 is a respected, quietly high-end phono stage/preamplifier rather than a budget fill-in, so A$750 lands right on the money for this market. With recent comparables centering at A$766 and the 25th to 75th percentile sitting at A$670 to A$777, this is basically a fair ask, not a bargain-basement steal or an ambitious punt.

What makes it appealing is the Primare house sound: clean, composed, and very low on editorializing, with enough refinement to suit serious vinyl systems. It’s the kind of piece that can stay in a system for years if it’s healthy. At this price, the key is simply confirming it’s functioning properly and, if relevant, that any original PSU, packaging, or manuals are included.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Primare

Primare traces its origins to 1985, when Danish industrial designer and audiophile Bo Christensen, frustrated by the era's cluttered audio gear, founded the company alongside engineer Bent Nielsen. Born in Denmark as Primare Systems AB, it embodied a mission for exceptional sound quality, elegant Scandinavian aesthetics, precise proportions, and intuitive interfaces. Rejecting the industry's short product cycles, Primare pioneered "living products" designed for longevity and evolution, with its debut 928 series—now exhibited in Copenhagen's Designmuseum Denmark—setting a minimalist benchmark against button-heavy contemporaries. A 1993 partnership with Swedish firm Xena, involving Lars Pedersen, propelled the influential 30 series in 1998, cementing its design legacy while shifting manufacturing to southern Sweden.

The brand specializes in high-fidelity separates, excelling in integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, network streamers, and DACs that handle analog, digital, wired, and wireless sources with balanced precision. Iconic lines like the 200, 300, and ongoing 30 and 15 series prioritize simple circuitry and modular upgrades, from tuners and Blu-ray players to modern computer audio solutions, always favoring functionality over gimmicks.

Primare occupies a premium mid-to-high-end niche, revered by discerning buyers for its honest integrity, timeless Scandinavian design, and deeply satisfying performance that endures across decades. Award-winning components, such as the EISA-honored CD32/I32, deliver audiophile purity without ostentation, positioning Primare as a practical choice for those seeking lasting quality over fleeting trends in a market craving authenticity.
