The MC7106 is a particularly versatile, substantial McIntosh power amplifier: six channels of 100 watts, with genuinely useful bridged configurations for stereo or home cinema. At £517, this is a strong deal, sitting exactly at the ground-truth 25th-percentile figure and well below the £816 median for five recent comparable listings.
Its appeal is the combination of smooth, controlled McIntosh power, excellent build, Power Guard protection, and the ability to deliver up to 320 watts per bridged channel. It is an older 1992–98 design, so the unknown condition matters more than usual: confirm that all six channels operate cleanly, the meters and relays behave properly, and that it is the correct mains version. If healthy, this is a compelling buy rather than merely a fair price.
