This Krell KAV-400xi integrated amplifier is from my personal collection. I bought it new and have used it very little; it has been kept carefully and is in excellent condition. The silver front panel, controls, and actual unit are shown in the photos, including close-ups for a better look at the finish. The listing is for the amplifier pictured. Please review the photos for condition and included items, and message me if you have any questions about pickup or shipping.
At US$750, this is a genuine bargain: it sits well below the comparable-listing 25th percentile of US$1,022 and far under the US$1,264 median. Assuming it powers up and performs properly, the price leaves substantial room for inspection, shipping, or routine servicing without undermining the value.
The KAV-400xi remains a formidable integrated amplifier, delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 watts into 4 ohms, with the current delivery to control demanding speakers. Its Class A-biased, fully balanced design, XLR input, useful RCA connectivity, and strong bass authority make it especially appealing for a high-current two-channel system. At this price, verify that the remote is included, both channels are clean, the input selection works, and there is no turn-on hum or protection-mode behavior; otherwise, this looks like an excellent buy.

Krell Industries, founded in 1980 in the United States by Dan D'Agostino and his wife Rondi, emerged from a passion for pushing audio engineering boundaries. Based initially in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and later settling in nearby Orange, the brand drew its name from the advanced alien race in the 1956 film Forbidden Planet, symbolizing limitless technological power. The company's debut at the 1981 Consumer Electronics Show with the KSA-100, a high-power Class A amplifier, sparked immediate demand and established Krell as a force in American hi-fi innovation.
Krell specializes in high-end amplification, with its power amplifiers—epitomized by flagships like the Master Reference Amplifier—earning legendary status for their raw dynamics and precision. The lineup extends to preamplifiers, surround sound processors, digital-to-analog converters, CD and Super Audio CD players, loudspeakers, and subwoofers, all engineered for uncompromised performance in music and home theater systems.
Positioned firmly at the pinnacle of the high-end audio market, Krell commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its cutting-edge circuitry, massive power supplies, and relentless pursuit of sonic excellence. A top-tier brand alongside legends like Levinson and Threshold, it appeals to buyers seeking reference-level gear that defines the genre, even amid recent ownership transitions following Rondi's passing in 2024.
