New, the SB-1000 Pro sits in the serious compact-subwoofer bracket, so €650 used is nowhere near a bargain. Against four recent comparable listings, the median is €323, with the 75th percentile at €417; €650 is clearly ambitious, even for excellent condition. A more convincing price would be around €350–€425, depending on finish, age, and accessories.
The product itself remains a strong performer: its sealed cabinet, long-throw 12-inch driver, 325-watt RMS amplifier, and extension to 20 Hz make it unusually capable for its size. The app-controlled DSP is genuinely useful, offering precise crossover, phase, room-gain, and parametric-EQ adjustment, while the compact cabinet integrates neatly in a music or cinema system. At this asking price, though, excellent condition does not offset the substantial premium over the established used market.

SVS Sound emerged in 1998 from a garage in Youngstown, Ohio, founded by a team of passionate audio engineers frustrated with overpriced, underwhelming subwoofers. Headquartered in the U.S., the brand disrupted the market by selling high-quality subs directly to consumers online, bypassing traditional retail markups while leveraging American manufacturing and cutting-edge engineering. This direct-to-consumer model, combined with rigorous testing, quickly established SVS as a force in affordable performance audio.
The company specializes in subwoofers, which remain its cornerstone with five dedicated lines from the entry-level 1000 series to the flagship Ultra series, but has expanded into full-range speakers, wireless audio devices, and cables. Under President and CEO Gary Yacoubian, SVS delivers sophisticated technology and immersive sound across home theater and hi-fi categories, prioritizing precision drivers, advanced amplification, and real-world optimization without venturing into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or headphones.
SVS holds a commanding position as the world's top subwoofer brand and a leading "bang-for-the-buck" speaker maker, blending reference-level performance with mid-tier pricing to appeal to discerning buyers seeking high-end results on a budget. No longer just a niche disruptor, it boasts global reach through online and retail channels, earning acclaim for democratizing exceptional audio.
