This Linn 5 channel amp is in pristine shape. 5 channels, 125W in 8 ohms, 230W in 4 ohms, it is plenty powerful. Dimensions (H × W × D): 75 × 381 × 354 mm (approx. 3" × 15" × 14")Sound is amazingly pure, accurate, fast, detailed, and pairs great with most any equipment but with Linn speakers, it achieves something a little more special. I am downsizing my system so you benefit. I also have a ton of other Linn stuff, from speakers to speaker cables. Contact me if interested.
The AV5125’s age matters: this is a circa-2001, discontinued design, not a current-generation amplifier. At US$699, though, the asking price is fair and close to the US$677 median from eight comparable listings—well below the US$799 75th percentile, though not the bargain territory below US$539.
Its appeal is substantial: five genuinely capable Class V channels, rated around 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms, in a compact, lightweight chassis. It works especially well for stereo or multichannel systems, with useful bi-wiring and active-card flexibility, and Linn’s rhythmic, controlled presentation remains the main attraction. Given the unknown condition, confirm all five channels operate cleanly, check for fan noise or channel imbalance, and verify the correct mains setting. If it tests properly and includes its original connectors or accessories, US$699 is a sensible buy rather than an overreach.

Linn Products: Brand Overview
Linn Products was founded in 1973 by Scottish engineer Ivor Tiefenbrun in Glasgow as a vehicle to manufacture the Sondek LP12 turntable, which would become the company's most iconic product and a cornerstone of high-fidelity audio. The brand emerged during the golden era of British hi-fi with a revolutionary "source first" philosophy—challenging the prevailing industry belief that loudspeakers mattered most by demonstrating that superior sound quality begins with the audio source. This foundational principle has guided the company's engineering ethos for over five decades.
Linn's product portfolio spans the complete hi-fi chain, from turntables and tonearms to preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers. The company introduced the world's first microprocessor-controlled preamplifier and power amplifier in 1985 (the LK1 and LK2), establishing itself as an electronics specialist. From 2007 onward, Linn pivoted toward digital music streaming, becoming an early adopter of network-based audio playback supporting studio master-quality recordings at 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and discontinued CD player production in 2009 to focus on this strategic direction.
Linn occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors for its uncompromising engineering approach and longevity. The brand's reputation rests on meticulous product design, acoustic isolation principles, and a commitment to eliminating weak links in the signal chain—a philosophy that has made Linn one of the most influential manufacturers in hi-fi history and a benchmark for quality-focused audio engineering.
