Seller's Description

Jamo C605 Floorstanding Loudspeakers These speakers will surprise you with their detail, we had them set up in a spacious lounge room with Denafrips DAC and Bluesound Node N130, they're rich in mid-range detail and able to push out some great sound. Designed for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts, the C605 speakers feature a 6.5" mid/bass driver and a 1" soft dome tweeter, tuned for both movies and music. I would have kept these but I got a good deal on some Focal speakers. Pickup Balgowlah, NSW 2093 Condition: Good Payment Method: Paypal, EFT, Cash on Pickup Region/State: (NSW) New Sout

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Versus a lot of the usual A$150 bookshelf or compact-floorstander alternatives, A$350 is on the ambitious side for this model: it’s well above the A$150 median and even past the A$267 75th percentile for recent used Jamo listings. That doesn’t make it a bad speaker, just one that needs to justify itself on condition, finish, and whether the price includes a matched pair in genuinely tidy shape.

These C605s are worth a look if you want an easy, room-filling, full-bodied floorstander rather than chasing standmounts plus extra stands and power. Jamo’s C-series is generally liked for smooth, lively presentation and decent bass for the money, so a clean pair can still be a satisfying buy. At this asking price, I’d want confirmation of good cosmetic condition, original grilles/spikes, and no driver or cabinet issues before jumping.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Jamo

Jamo traces its roots to 1968 in the small Danish village of Glingor, northern Jutland, where carpenter Preben Jakobsen and his partner Mortensen launched the brand from a modest workshop. Named from the founders' surnames, Jamo quickly expanded, building its first factory by 1970 and debuting at the 1973 IFA exhibition. Danish design principles—emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and precision engineering—propelled it from humble beginnings to Europe's largest speaker manufacturer, blending Scandinavian aesthetics with breakthrough audio technologies.

The brand has long specialized in loudspeakers, from iconic hi-fi models to pioneering home theater systems, earning a milestone as the first in the EMEA region to achieve THX certification in 1991 with its THX ONE setup. While speakers remain its hallmark, Jamo's portfolio has evolved to encompass high-fidelity systems, connected solutions, and lifestyle products, always prioritizing performance-driven sound.

Positioned as a mid-tier powerhouse with premium aspirations, Jamo dominated the European market through the 1990s and 2000s under various ownerships, including Klipsch, before a 2024 acquisition by Chinese firms Cinemaster and Rayleigh Lab. This revival honors its Nordic heritage—retaining some Danish production—while modernizing for today's audiophiles, appealing to discerning buyers seeking value-packed, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end prices.
