New, the Block V-250 was around EUR 399–499, while current used asking prices cluster roughly around EUR 139–149, with higher examples reaching EUR 289. At EUR 145 in excellent condition, this is a strong deal: essentially the low end of the normal used market, and good value if it is fully functional.
It is a neatly built, compact integrated with a useful MM phono stage, four line inputs, headphone output, tone controls, remote capability, and a respectable 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It suits efficient standmounts or a smaller room rather than demanding, insensitive speakers, but the feature set is unusually complete at this money. Check that the remote is included and that the phono input, controls, and display work properly; otherwise, this looks like a buy rather than a punt.

Block is a Czech audio brand best known as Block Audio, a company that appears to have been operating since around 2013 and is based in the Czech Republic. Public-facing materials identify the firm as BLOCKAUDIO s.r.o. in Oskava, and trade coverage has described it as a high-end electronics manufacturer; however, readily available background on the founder and early company history is limited, so its origins are not especially well documented in mainstream hi-fi references.
Its focus is on serious home-audio electronics, especially amplifiers and related high-performance components rather than mass-market lifestyle gear. The brand’s own messaging emphasizes “ultimate quality” and “crafted without compromises,” which aligns with a product philosophy aimed at audiophile systems and specialist setups. There is no strong evidence that Block is known for speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables in the way larger audio brands are; its reputation appears centered on electronics.
In the market, Block sits in the niche boutique/high-end segment rather than the mid-tier mainstream. It is the kind of brand that tends to attract knowledgeable buyers looking for distinctive, small-scale engineering and a more exclusive alternative to better-known amplifier makers. At the same time, it remains relatively obscure outside enthusiast circles, so it has more of a specialist following than broad global recognition.
