Nice power cable from Nordost’s discontinued series that is just over 1m long with an Australian plug fitted. Will pack well for posting to an interstate buyer (no more than $25 Express Post). I am rationalising my power cable holdings.
A$250 is a strong deal, sitting well below the A$378 25th-percentile asking price and roughly half the A$506 median for recent examples. Even allowing for unknown condition, that is bargain territory if this is a genuine Nordost SHIVA interconnect rather than a similarly named power cable.
SHIVA is an older, well-regarded Nordost design valued for a quick, clean presentation, good timing, and crisp transient detail rather than warmth or weight. At A$250, it offers an inexpensive way to explore that character and should be easy to resell if it does not suit. Before buying, confirm the exact length, RCA or XLR termination, connector condition, and authenticity; with those checks passed, this looks like a worthwhile pickup rather than merely a fair price.

Nordost, an American high-end audio brand, traces its origins to 1991 when it was founded in Massachusetts, just outside Boston. From the outset, the company committed to designing, engineering, and manufacturing all products exclusively in the United States, drawing on aerospace-derived technologies like conductor solutions to pioneer its signature flat cable geometry. This Northeast-rooted heritage—reflected even in the brand's name, meaning "northeast" in Scandinavian languages—has defined Nordost as a beacon of innovation in signal preservation for over three decades.
The brand specializes in premium hi-fi cables and accessories, including speaker cables, interconnects, digital cables, power cords, and video transmission lines. Nordost employs advanced techniques such as Micro Mono-Filament construction and mechanically tuned lengths to minimize distortion and maximize fidelity. Beyond cables, its lineup extends to power distribution systems, grounding solutions, and resonance control devices, forming a comprehensive ecosystem that enhances the entire audio chain without venturing into amplifiers, speakers, or turntables.
Renowned among audiophiles worldwide, Nordost occupies a premium niche in the high-end market, celebrated for revolutionary designs that deliver unadulterated sound. From accessible Leif series entry points to exotic Valhalla and Odin flagships, its products command respect in over 60 countries, positioning the brand as a go-to for discerning buyers seeking boundary-pushing performance and uncompromising quality.
