Timing matters little here: this is the current QuietComfort generation rather than an obviously dated model, though the title does not specify whether it is the standard QC or an older QC 45. Bose’s current QuietComfort replaced the QC 45 and remains a straightforward, comfort-first noise-cancelling headphone. At €150, it is an excellent buy against the comparable-listing median of €154 and comfortably above the €97 lower quartile—not quite a statistical bargain, but very close to one.
The appeal is familiar Bose competence: exceptionally comfortable long-session wear, effective everyday ANC, dependable wireless operation, and a relaxed sound that suits travel and office listening. “Neuwertig” makes this especially attractive if the case, charging cable, audio lead, and original packaging are included; verify the exact model and battery performance before buying. At this price, a clean, complete example is a strong practical purchase rather than merely a fair deal.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
