Are you looking for a powerful, room-filling floorstander rather than a neutral studio monitor? At €290, this is a fair-to-good price, though not a bargain: it sits above the €208 median for 938 comparable listings, but comfortably below the €413 75th percentile. The “excellent” condition helps justify the premium.
The Ultima 40 Mk4 is well regarded for its strong value, high efficiency, deep punchy bass, clear speech, and ability to play loudly without demanding an expensive amplifier. Its three-way design, twin woofers, and waveguided tweeter make it a capable choice for both stereo and home cinema, particularly in medium-sized rooms. At this price, it looks like a worthwhile buy if the pair is complete, undamaged, and includes the grilles and original terminals.

Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
