Hi
This is a fair ask, right on the market median. At €100, it matches the median of 21 comparable listings, while the middle 50% runs from €77 to €104, so it is neither a bargain nor overpriced. With condition unspecified, the value depends on whether the pads, headband and cable are in healthy shape.
The DT 990 remains a worthwhile buy for its spacious open-back presentation, lively bass and treble, and very comfortable over-ear fit. It suits home listening especially well, though it leaks sound and is not for noisy environments. Confirm the exact version and impedance before buying—32-ohm, 80-ohm, 250-ohm and 600-ohm variants behave differently with source equipment—and check that the adapter and cable are included. Replacement pads are readily available, so clean overall condition makes €100 sensible.

Beyerdynamic traces its roots to 1924 Berlin, where engineer Eugen Beyer founded Elektrotechnische Fabrik Eugen Beyer to produce cinema loudspeakers for the dawn of sound films. Born in St. Petersburg in 1903, Beyer relocated amid the Russian Revolution, pioneering dynamic drivers that defined early audio reproduction. Post-World War II destruction forced a rebuild in Heilbronn in 1948, with his son Fred R. Beyer steering the family-owned firm through decades of innovation until its 2025 acquisition by China's Cosonic Intelligent, marking the end of a century-long German heritage.
The brand excels in headphones and microphones, launching the DT 48 in 1937 as the world's first dynamic headphones—a staple for sound engineers until 2012. It expanded into wireless systems, conference tech, and professional monitoring gear, serving studios, broadcast, film, and now gaming. While early efforts included amplifiers and loudspeakers, Beyerdynamic prioritizes transducers over consumer amps, DACs, turntables, speakers, or cables.
Renowned for durable, reference-grade professional audio, Beyerdynamic occupies a solid mid-to-high-end niche, blending accessible pricing with studio precision that appeals to creators and audiophiles. Its century of milestones—from micing royalty to touring icons—cements a reputation for reliability and sonic purity among discerning hi-fi buyers seeking tools that endure.
