Seller's Description

JAYS AUDIO CDT2 MK3 CD Transport JAY'S AUDIO CDT2 MK3 CD transport in black! If you have been thinking about one of these this is a chance to get one thats barely past run-in stage...   As new, this unit has had very little use as it was reboxed around 6 months after purchase, replaced by the CDT3-MK3. Has been sitting in the box for almost a year. I have had it on the rack running and its an amazing transport, seriously good sounding highly praised in all reviews as many of you would know. This is about as close to brand new as you will get, all original packing materials, blue tape over scre

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$2,500, this sits well below your recent-comps median of A$3,415 and even under the A$2,693 25th percentile, so it reads as a strong buy / bargain in the current used market. For a Jay’s Audio CDT2 MK3 transport, that’s a notably friendly entry point if the unit is clean and working properly.

This is the kind of transport people buy for solid disc handling, a serious clocked digital output stage, and the sort of “get out of the player, into the transport” simplicity that pairs well with revealing DACs. The upside is strongest if it’s an original-owner, low-use unit with the remote, packaging, and no tray or laser issues; at this price, a straightforward, well-kept example is an easy recommendation.

About Jay's Audio

Jay's Audio emerged from the passion of founder Jay Ho, a Chinese audio enthusiast whose journey began around 20 years ago with hands-on experimentation across hundreds of power amplifiers. Relocating his operations to the United States—first Georgia, now Texas—Ho established the brand to deliver meticulously engineered digital sources, drawing on decades of trial-and-error refinement. His early focus on Philips CDPro2 LF and CDM4 mechanisms laid the foundation for a lineup prioritizing sonic purity over mass production.

The brand specializes in high-performance CD transports and DACs, such as the acclaimed CDT3-Mk3 and DAC2-Mk3 models, designed explicitly for critical audiophiles seeking Redbook CD playback excellence. While Ho's personal audio lab showcases partnerships with elite brands like Audio Group Denmark and interest in icons such as McIntosh, Jay's Audio remains narrowly focused on transport and digital conversion hardware, eschewing speakers, amplifiers, or headphones to master this niche.

Positioned as a boutique high-end contender, Jay's Audio earns praise in enthusiast circles for its no-compromise builds and transparent soundstaging, as highlighted in reviews from outlets like 6moons. With dedicated reference rooms in Texas featuring military-grade acoustics and power infrastructure, it appeals to discerning buyers chasing ultimate digital retrieval, bridging Chinese precision with American audiophile ambition in a competitive market.
