This is a buyer’s market at €99: the price is essentially at the €97 median for recent used examples, but the “excellent” condition makes it a fair-to-good buy rather than an ordinary one. It is well below the €153 upper quartile, though not quite the €71 threshold that would make it an outright bargain.
The S880DB remains a particularly versatile compact active speaker: clean, capable desktop sound, built-in amplification, USB, optical, coaxial, analogue inputs and aptX Bluetooth give it unusual system flexibility. Hi-Res support and four EQ modes add useful tuning options, while the included remote makes everyday use easy. At this price, confirm that the remote, speaker cable and power lead are present, and test every input; otherwise, a clean, complete pair is worth buying.

# Edifier
Edifier was established in May 1996 in Beijing, China, by a group of audiophiles committed to delivering high-quality sound at accessible prices. The company has grown from a regional manufacturer into a global audio brand with operations spanning North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. Listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2003, Edifier operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities producing millions of units annually and employs approximately 3,000 people worldwide. In 2011, the company acquired STAX, the respected Japanese high-end audio equipment maker, signaling its ambitions in the premium segment.
Edifier's product portfolio spans consumer and professional audio categories, including Bluetooth speakers, bookshelf speakers, soundbars, headphones, and multimedia sound systems. The brand is particularly recognized for compact and desktop speakers that balance acoustic performance with contemporary design. While not positioned as ultra-premium audiophile equipment, Edifier products are engineered with attention to acoustic technology and innovation, appealing to listeners seeking quality sound without flagship pricing.
Edifier occupies the accessible mid-tier of the audio market, known for delivering solid build quality and reliable performance at competitive price points. The company emphasizes both technological advancement and sustainability, investing significantly in research and development. With presence in over 70 countries and consistent year-over-year revenue growth, Edifier has established itself as a mainstream consumer audio brand trusted by music enthusiasts seeking practical, well-designed solutions for personal and home entertainment.
