This is a seller’s market at the very top of the Kondo hierarchy, but £40,000 is clearly ambitious against the available comparables: the median is £1,435, with the 75th percentile at £20,718. Even allowing for the rarity and prestige of the M7 Heritage, this asks nearly twice that upper-quartile figure, so it needs exceptional provenance, accessories, and buyer confidence to justify it.
The appeal is real. This is a hand-wired valve preamplifier with an integrated phono stage, silver components, a substantial power supply, and the vivid, finely textured presentation Kondo is known for. The built-in phono section and broad connectivity make it unusually versatile for a statement analogue system. “Excellent” condition helps, but at this level a buyer should still verify serial number, service history, original valves, packaging, and full accessory complement; absent those, the price looks more like a collector’s ask than a straightforward buying opportunity.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
