Seller's Description

Copland Audio csa70 (FAULTY) Integrated Amplifier Gday Guys   I have a silver Copland CSA70 integrated which has some sort of fault. The amp is working intermittently, but a lot of the time goes into protection mode upon startup. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is.    Cosmetically the unit is perfect and comes with boxes, manual, power lead  etc.  Condition: Non Functioning / Parts Payment Method: EFT, cash Region/State: (VIC) Victoria/Australia By stu1990 4 Comments Secure Ad AUD $1,000 Date: September 18, 20241 yr

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Copland CSA70 is the Danish brand's entry-level integrated—a solid-state Class A/B design that punches well above its modest 70W rating and has earned consistent praise from reviewers for musicality and build quality. At AUD $1,000, this is a genuine bargain. New retail sat around AUD $4,500–$5,000, and even used examples typically command AUD $2,500–$3,500 depending on condition and age. You're looking at a 60–70% discount, which suggests either motivated selling or undiscovered stock.

Before committing, verify the amplifier powers up cleanly and holds stable bias—listen for any hum or crackling through the speakers at low volume, and check that the motorized volume control tracks smoothly across its full range. Confirm all inputs (particularly the phono stage and digital section) are responsive, and ask the seller about service history and whether the original manual and remote are included. The CSA70 is robustly engineered, but knowing whether it's been recently serviced or sits untouched for years will tell you whether this price reflects genuine value or hidden risk.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Copland Audio

Copland Audio, founded in the mid-1980s in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Ole Møller, traces its roots to his early career at Ortofon, where he developed low-noise amplifiers before pursuing a passion for valve-based designs. Møller established the company to realize his vision of high-quality audio electronics, initially building preamplifiers and small power amps from personal demand. Manufacturing briefly shifted to Sweden in the 1990s under Xena Audio ownership—sharing facilities with Primare—before returning to Copenhagen, preserving its Danish heritage amid evolving production needs.

The brand focuses primarily on amplifiers and CD players, renowned for integrating decades of Møller's expertise in valve and solid-state technologies. Standouts include integrated amplifiers like the CSA150 and early CD players such as the CDA 288, co-developed with Philips R&D veteran Morten Simonson. Copland emphasizes refined electronics over speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables, prioritizing sonic purity and elegant design.

Copland holds a respected niche in the high-end hi-fi market, celebrated for class-leading amplifiers that balance sound quality with thoughtful engineering. It appeals to discerning buyers seeking boutique Danish refinement—neither mass-market nor vintage collector fare—earning worldwide acclaim for its consistent performance and understated sophistication.
