Te koop aangeboden: een paar vintage bose model 601 direct/reflecting luidsprekers. Doen wat ze moeten doen maar kunnen optisch een opfrisbeurt gebruiken. Land: belgie plaats: beveren
This is a strong deal at €150: it sits below the €178 25th-percentile comparable, well under the €254 median, and is firmly bargain territory against the €647 75th percentile. Assuming these are a complete, working pair, the price leaves plenty of room for age-related cosmetic wear.
The 601s are worthwhile for their broad, spacious presentation, generous bass, and ability to fill a room rather than confine sound to a narrow sweet spot. Their direct/reflecting driver layout works best with sensible side- and rear-wall placement, making them enjoyable vintage room-fillers with the right setup. Before buying, listen to every driver and inspect the woofer surrounds closely, since deterioration there is a known age concern; otherwise, this is an excellent entry price for a genuine pair.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
