Lenco L75 Plattenspieler

Lenco traces its origins to 1946 in Burgdorf, Switzerland, where husband-and-wife team Fritz and Marie Laeng founded the company amid post-war demand for audio innovation. Deriving its name from the Laeng surname, the venture began as an electronics shop that evolved into a factory specializing in record players, earning acclaim for reliable engineering and customer service. By the 1960s, Lenco pioneered hi-fi turntables like the iconic L-75 model, with its robust tonearm becoming a favored component among stereo manufacturers worldwide.

The brand's product focus centers on turntables, which remain its hallmark, alongside a broad array of consumer audio gear including speakers, DAB+ and internet radios, DVD players, and Bluetooth-enabled systems. Under Dutch ownership since the late 1990s—first by the Lenco STL Group and later Commaxx International—its lineup blends nostalgic vinyl revival with modern connectivity, all produced affordably in Southeast Asian facilities.

Today, Lenco occupies a solid mid-tier position in the consumer hi-fi market, prized by vinyl enthusiasts for value-driven Swiss heritage designs that deliver accessible quality without high-end premiums. While vintage Swiss models from the 1950s-1980s command collector interest among audiophiles, current offerings appeal to savvy buyers seeking stylish, user-friendly electronics that nod to tradition.
