Offered is „Croft Precession Vorstufe“ by Croft Acoustics as second-hand device from the category „Tube-Preamp“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 1629504431 ends on 21.12.2026 at 11:44 o'clock.
In good condition, €1,020 is a fair-to-good price for the Croft Precession: it sits above the €916 median but comfortably below the €1,339 75th percentile, and remains well within the normal range rather than looking ambitious. It is not the bargain of the comparables, but the condition makes the ask reasonably attractive if the unit is complete and working properly.
The Precession is a distinctive, minimalist Croft line preamp, valued for its lively timing, transparency, and low-noise battery-powered supply. Its six line inputs and valve/MOSFET hybrid design suit an enthusiast who wants an engaging analogue front end without unnecessary circuitry. Confirm the battery compartment, correct operation of both channels, and the supplied controls or accessories; it has no phono stage or remote, so those omissions are inherent rather than faults.

Croft is a British hi-fi brand associated with Glenn Croft, whose roots go back to the late 1970s in Wolverhampton, England, when he was repairing and modifying valve audio equipment. By the early 1980s, the Croft name was established in specialist audio, and the company has been in business for decades rather than operating as a new boutique label.
The brand is best known for amplification, especially valve and hybrid amplifiers and preamplifiers; its phono stages and integrated amplifiers are particularly well regarded among vinyl-focused listeners. Croft is not known as a maker of speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables, but rather as a focused electronics specialist built around simple, hand-crafted designs.
In the market, Croft sits in the niche audiophile and specialist British hi-fi segment: neither mass-market nor ultra-luxury, but respected for musical, tube-based sound and a loyal following among enthusiasts. Its appeal is strongest with buyers who value classic circuit design, understated engineering, and a distinctly old-school hi-fi character.
