The Majestic is an older, now-generation-specific DAC/preamp, so timing matters mainly because modern connectivity may be more limited. At £795, this is ambitious against the 69 comparable listings: the median is £159, with the 75th percentile at £255. Even allowing for the Majestic’s higher specification, this sits far beyond the normal used-market band unless it is exceptionally rare or effectively new.
It remains a desirable piece for a system built around multiple digital sources: it offers extensive coaxial and optical inputs, USB, an analogue input, fixed RCA output, and a useful variable balanced output. Its Wolfson-based conversion and smooth, spacious presentation are well regarded, while the included power supply and manual are positives. “Working well” is reassuring, but at this price the buyer should expect near-mint condition, impeccable provenance, and perhaps warranty support; otherwise, negotiation toward the established market range is essential.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Graham Slee Projects, founded in 1998 in the UK by engineer Graham Slee, traces its roots to his extensive career beginning in 1974. Starting in audiovisual engineering, he advanced through printed circuit design, electronics manufacturing, and broadcast audio, serving as a senior engineer for BBC studio contractors before freelancing in hi-fi. This deep expertise laid the foundation for a brand dedicated to precision audio electronics, all handmade in British workshops.
The company specializes in phono preamplifiers and headphone amplifiers, developed in tandem since 2000 to mutually enhance performance. Flagship phono stages like the Accession MM, Reflex M, Era Gold V, and Revelation excel at extracting superior detail from vinyl, while headphone amps such as the Solo Ultra Linear and Novo deliver refined, high-fidelity drive. Graham Slee also offers DACs, focusing on compact, synergistic components for vinyl enthusiasts and headphone users rather than speakers, turntables, or cables.
Positioned as a niche boutique in the high-end hi-fi market, Graham Slee earns acclaim among discerning audiophiles for its uncompromised sound quality and value. Free from mass production, its products prioritize musical transparency and build integrity, appealing to serious vinyl collectors and headphone aficionados who seek understated excellence over hype.
