This is a buyer’s market for this category, and USD149 is a fair, market-aligned price—not a bargain, but certainly not ambitious. It lands exactly at the median of 88 comparable used listings, well below the USD329 75th-percentile mark. Given that the unit is tested working and includes its power supply, the asking price looks sensible for a clean, complete example.
The OBH-8 remains a well-regarded compact MM phono stage, with a lively, detailed presentation, strong imaging, and good bass. Its 37 dB gain and fixed 47k-ohm/220 pF loading suit conventional MM cartridges and some high-output MCs, but it is not the choice for low-output MC use. The separate 24 V supply is essential, so its inclusion matters; with confirmed operation, this is an easy recommendation for someone needing a straightforward, musically engaging phono stage at a fair USD149.

Creek Audio traces its origins to 1982, when founder Michael Creek launched the brand from a modest setup in his London home and garage. Guided by a philosophy of delivering high-quality hi-fi at accessible prices, the company debuted with the CAS4040 integrated amplifier and soon followed with the matching CAS3040 tuner, both priced at £99. Rapid demand prompted a move to larger facilities, fueling expansion through the 1980s and into the 1990s, when Creek bought back the brand rights in 1993 with international partners, reestablishing operations in north London.
The brand specializes in amplifiers, remaining true to its roots with integrated models like the iconic 4330 SE, while expanding into tuners, DACs, and select digital sources. Creek's designs, crafted by Mike Creek and his engineering team using advanced CAD and testing, emphasize compact, reliable electronics over flashy aesthetics, with wooden accents nodding to vintage trends.
Positioned as a mid-tier British staple, Creek Audio enjoys a loyal following among discerning buyers seeking unpretentious performance without high-end premiums. Its reputation for value-driven amplification has sustained it for over four decades, appealing to both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts who prioritize musicality and longevity in a crowded market.
