The Sansui G-7700 is a serious late-’70s flagship receiver, but USD 1,750 is an ambitious ask rather than an obvious bargain. Typical working examples cluster around USD 900–1,500, with restored or exceptionally clean units sometimes reaching roughly USD 1,800–2,300. At this price, documented professional servicing and excellent cosmetics should be part of the package.
Its appeal is real: 120 watts per channel, a strong dual-mono-style power supply, excellent FM tuner, substantial build, and the muscular, controlled sound that makes Sansui’s G-series desirable. The price becomes defensible for an original-owner, very clean example with service records, correct meters and lamps, and a cabinet or accessories in unusually good shape. Otherwise, negotiate toward USD 1,300–1,500; age-related power-supply capacitors, switches, lamps, and driver-board issues make a vague “works” description insufficient at USD 1,750.
