Offered is „LS5/9 BBC Monitor“ by Graham Audio as exhibit from the category „Compact Speaker“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 8688490997 ends on 22.12.2026 at 06:41 o'clock.
Good condition at €2,900 makes this a genuine bargain, sitting far below the €6,057 25th-percentile comparable and dramatically under the €9,214 median. Assuming the listing is for a complete stereo pair, the price is unusually attractive rather than merely fair; confirm that point before arranging collection.
The LS5/8 is a serious BBC-licensed monitor: its large 12-inch Volt bass/mid driver, refined passive crossover, and Audax tweeter deliver unusually clean midrange, convincing imaging, extended bass, and effortless dynamics in a larger room. It is also relatively easy to drive at 89 dB sensitivity. For a clean, working pair, inspect the veneer, grilles, driver surrounds, terminals, and crossover integrity, while checking whether the original stands or packaging are included. Even without accessories, €2,900 leaves substantial value on the table.

Graham Audio, a family-owned British company founded in 2010 by Paul Graham, traces its roots to Devon in southwest England. With over two decades in professional audio—including recording, broadcasting, and live sound—Paul Graham sought to preserve the revered "BBC sound" as original monitors aged. After securing BBC permission, he revived these iconic designs from Newton Abbot, blending heritage with modern precision.
The brand specializes in hand-built monitor loudspeakers, notably BBC-licensed models like the LS3/5 and LS5/9. Using premium materials and contemporary components, Graham Audio crafts neutral, transparent speakers suited for studios, home listening rooms, and even prestigious venues such as the Royal Opera House. Their focus remains exclusively on these high-fidelity loudspeakers, eschewing amplifiers, turntables, or other categories.
Positioned as a niche boutique in the high-end market, Graham Audio commands respect among discerning audiophiles for authenticity and performance. Operating from a modest farmhouse, the small team delivers revealing sound that rivals modern rivals while honoring mid-20th-century engineering, appealing to collectors and professionals who prioritize realism over flash.
