Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Q95T was Samsung’s 2020 flagship 55-inch QLED, respected for strong brightness, contrast and gaming performance. At €435, though, this is an ambitious ask: your comparable listings put the median at €78, with the 75th percentile at €144, so this sits far beyond the normal used-market band.

The set still offers a lot—4K resolution, full-array local dimming, 120 Hz-class motion and a gaming-friendly HDMI 2.1 input—making it a capable bright-room TV rather than disposable old stock. But age, the lack of Dolby Vision, and the risk of panel uniformity or backlight wear matter at this price. Unless it is exceptionally clean, complete with its One Connect box and remote, and carries meaningful warranty or provenance, €435 is difficult to justify; a substantial reduction would make it much more appealing.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Samsung

Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969 in Suwon, South Korea, by Lee Byung-chull, began as part of the Samsung Group with a vision embodied in its name—"three stars"—symbolizing power, abundance, and enduring brilliance. Initially focused on electronics like black-and-white televisions and semiconductors, the company rapidly expanded into consumer appliances, earning global recognition in the 1970s for mass-producing home electronics that set industry standards for reliability and innovation.

In hi-fi audio, Samsung's direct offerings emphasize integrated soundbars, wireless speakers, and headphones optimized for its Galaxy ecosystem and QLED televisions, prioritizing seamless connectivity and immersive home theater experiences over standalone components. Through its subsidiary Harman International—acquired in 2017—Samsung commands a vast portfolio including JBL, Harman Kardon, AKG, and, following the 2025 $350 million purchase of Sound United, premium brands like Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, and Definitive Technology. This arsenal spans amplifiers, turntables, DACs, and high-end speakers, blending legacy hi-fi engineering with modern DSP and streaming.

Positioned as a dominant mid-to-premium market force rather than a pure high-end boutique, Samsung leverages scale and ecosystem integration to deliver accessible excellence, appealing to discerning buyers seeking value-driven performance without niche esoterica. Its aggressive acquisitions have reshaped the audio landscape, making it a pivotal player for hi-fi enthusiasts prioritizing versatility and future-proofing over vintage exclusivity.
