At €300, this sits just below the €305 median for recent comparable listings and well above the €251 lower quartile, so it is a fair-to-good price rather than a clear bargain. For a clean example, the asking figure looks sensible, especially given the model’s substantial output capability.
The 712F is a serious 12-inch driver: 1500 W RMS, 4500 W peak, dual 2-ohm coils, and around 22 mm of linear excursion make it well suited to a properly designed, high-power enclosure. Its appeal is strong bass output without stepping up to a larger cone, though the buyer should confirm the exact coil configuration, test both voice coils, and check that the suspension and former are undamaged. At €300, a clean, fully working unit is worth considering.

DD Audio, also known historically as Digital Designs, was founded in 1986 in the United States and has long presented itself as an American design-and-manufacturing company. The brand’s own history pages trace its roots to hand-built subwoofers and a “make things sound better” engineering ethos, with Oklahoma City as the company base. A founder is not clearly identified in the supplied material, so that detail is not stated here.
Its core product focus is car audio and related high-output systems: subwoofers, amplifiers, and speakers are the main categories, alongside offerings for trucks, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, and broader pro, marine, home, industrial, and OEM applications. The brand is especially associated with extreme-output bass products and competition-oriented builds rather than source components like turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.
In the market, DD Audio sits in a specialist performance niche rather than the traditional hi-fi mainstream. Its reputation is strongest among enthusiasts who value power handling, efficiency, and custom installation over audiophile minimalism, which gives it a distinct position in the car-audio world. It is best understood as a robust, American-built niche brand with a strong identity in subwoofer-led systems.
