Seller's Description

Sansui 907MR Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) The Bad: The big volume pot is slightly off centre. From the packaging when it was arrived you could pretty much tell that the amp was transported with volume pot facing down. Good news is that it does not affect anything and you can't really tell if not looking closely.   The Good: The amp was serviced in Japan and then again here in Australia by Andy on the Gold Coast a couple of years ago. In terms of sound it's by some margin the better of the two 907MR's I have heard and I attribute it to the service. It's got a tube bloom to it which sounds

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$2,500, this sits well above the typical used market here: the median is A$609, the 75th percentile is A$1,427, and this asking price is clearly ambitious by comparison. That doesn’t automatically make it unreasonable for a sought-after Sansui flagship, but it does mean you’re paying a strong premium, so the condition and provenance need to be excellent to justify it.

These 907-series Sansui integrated amps are prized for their muscular, refined sound and serious build quality, and they’ve got real collector appeal. If this one is clean, fully original, and recently serviced, it could still be a rewarding buy for the right fan — but at this level I’d want clear proof of working health, originality, and no hidden restoration issues before leaning in.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Sansui

Sansui, a pioneering Japanese audio brand, traces its origins to 1947 when it was founded in Tokyo by brothers Sakurai and Shunichi Yamamoto. Emerging from post-war Japan, the company quickly established itself as an innovator in consumer electronics, leveraging precision engineering to craft components that rivaled Western counterparts. Its heritage is rooted in the golden era of hi-fi, where Sansui's commitment to sonic purity helped define Japan's rise as a global audio powerhouse.

The brand excelled in a broad spectrum of hi-fi categories, with particular renown for its integrated amplifiers, receivers, and tuners that delivered warm, dynamic sound. Sansui also produced acclaimed speakers, turntables, cassette decks, and later digital converters, emphasizing robust build quality and innovative features like direct-coupled circuitry for low distortion. These products catered to audiophiles seeking balanced performance across analog and early digital domains.

Today, Sansui holds a cherished position in the vintage collector market, revered for its mid-to-high-end gear from the 1970s and 1980s—icons like the AU-series amps remain sought after for their musicality and reliability. While no longer a frontline manufacturer, its legacy endures among discerning buyers restoring classics or hunting timeless performers, blending nostalgia with enduring value.
