New, the Acoustimass 3 sells around €185–€200 depending on version, so €100 for an excellent-condition set is a strong deal. It sits just below the €101 median and comfortably above the €85 lower quartile of 14 recent comparable listings, making this a sensible buy rather than merely an average price.
The appeal is the compact, tidy package: two tiny cubes and the passive Acoustimass module deliver surprisingly spacious stereo while fitting easily into a small room or discreet rear-channel setup. They are easy to place and generally robust, with the module handling the low end without needing a powered subwoofer. Just confirm that both cubes, the module, and the speaker cables are included, and test each channel; at €100, a complete, working set is well worth considering.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
