JBL 4320 Standmount Loudspeakers Dear stereonet community. Add re-written as I had the veneer refinished. I present to you a pair of lovingly restored JBL 4320. I acquired these from the original owner late last year. These JBL 4320 were upgraded to the 4333 version by adding the famed JBL crystal slot tweeter (077/2405) a few years after the original purchase in 1976 I have the original paperwork and receipts. The 4320 has real vintage JBL cachet: a serious studio monitor with strong collector appeal and the kind of dynamic, efficient presentation people buy old JBLs for. At A$5,050, this looks ambitious versus the last visible local ask of A$3,000 for a very good pair, unless this listing includes unusually clean cosmetics, fully original drivers, and documented servicing.
That said, it can still be a worthwhile buy if it’s truly healthy: these are valued for punch, scale, and that big, lively JBL midbass that makes vintage rock and live recordings addictive. I’d want proof of all drivers working cleanly, no voice-coil rub, no recone mismatch, and original cabinets/grilles if collector value matters; with a big vintage monitor like this, condition and originality move the needle far more than age alone.
