Are you already invested in a compatible Bose soundbar system? At €425, this is an ambitious ask: it sits well above the €154 median and €291 75th-percentile asking prices from 1,280 recent comparables. Even in excellent condition, it is not a bargain; a materially lower price would make more sense, unless the listing includes unusually complete accessories or exceptional provenance.
For the right Bose owner, these remain a worthwhile upgrade: compact, discreet, easy to pair, and effective at adding convincing rear ambience without running signal cables across the room. They work with selected Bose soundbars, including the Smart 300/600/700/900, Ultra, Soundbar 500, and SoundTouch 300, but require mains power for their wireless receivers. Confirm both adapters, receiver-to-speaker leads, clean pairing, and compatibility before buying; at this price, completeness and a successful test are essential.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
