Seller's Description

Sansui 907i MOS Limited Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) I imported this Sansui from Japan so it is a 100 volt unit, you will need a step down transformer to use it in Australia (example link below, please do not buy a unit under 1000W)   This is a very nice sounding unit, it has all the positive qualities of the normal 907s but with tighter bass and more mid-range resolution.  Please note this is a 1987 model.  I have had it looked over by a local tech, it has been tested and found to be fully functional, no faults found.  I feel confident in offering a 3 month warranty to any potential pur

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

For a vintage Sansui speaker like this, timing matters because these are long out of production and the real question is condition, not availability. At A$2,000, the ask is only easy to judge if this is a top-tier, fully original, restored pair; for a more ordinary used Sansui speaker, that’s ambitious rather than a bargain, and I’d want stronger proof of provenance and health before paying up.

The upside is that Sansui’s big vintage boxes can sound warm, full, and very rewarding with the right amp, and original cabinets/drivers matter a lot to collectors. If it’s complete, unmodified, and cosmetically clean, there’s genuine appeal here—but at this level I’d insist on driver verification, crossover health, and clear photos of badges, surrounds, and cabinets.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Sansui

Sansui, a pioneering Japanese audio brand, traces its origins to 1947 when it was founded in Tokyo by brothers Sakurai and Shunichi Yamamoto. Emerging from post-war Japan, the company quickly established itself as an innovator in consumer electronics, leveraging precision engineering to craft components that rivaled Western counterparts. Its heritage is rooted in the golden era of hi-fi, where Sansui's commitment to sonic purity helped define Japan's rise as a global audio powerhouse.

The brand excelled in a broad spectrum of hi-fi categories, with particular renown for its integrated amplifiers, receivers, and tuners that delivered warm, dynamic sound. Sansui also produced acclaimed speakers, turntables, cassette decks, and later digital converters, emphasizing robust build quality and innovative features like direct-coupled circuitry for low distortion. These products catered to audiophiles seeking balanced performance across analog and early digital domains.

Today, Sansui holds a cherished position in the vintage collector market, revered for its mid-to-high-end gear from the 1970s and 1980s—icons like the AU-series amps remain sought after for their musicality and reliability. While no longer a frontline manufacturer, its legacy endures among discerning buyers restoring classics or hunting timeless performers, blending nostalgia with enduring value.
