The Bose 700 remains a notable all-rounder: polished build, excellent adjustable noise cancellation, and particularly good call quality. At €90, it is a strong deal rather than merely fair—the asking price sits well below the €112 median and beneath the €62–€211 middle-market range’s lower quartile benchmark, making it attractive even for a used example.
The hardcase and accessories add practical value, especially for travel, while the 700’s comfortable fit, effective ANC, transparency mode, and roughly 20-hour battery make it a capable daily headphone. Before buying, confirm that both sides play cleanly, Bluetooth and touch controls work, ANC switches modes properly, and the battery still holds a useful charge; it is built in and not user-replaceable. If those basics check out, this looks like an easy recommendation at €90.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
