At £1,537, this is a strong buy: it sits below the £1,489–£1,723 central market range’s median of £1,569 and is only slightly above the lower quartile, making it keenly priced among four recent comparable listings. With a clean, complete example, there is little reason to negotiate aggressively.
The U2 Mini is a particularly capable transport for anyone already using a good DAC, offering USB, AES/EBU, BNC, coaxial and optical outputs, broad high-resolution support, Roon Ready operation, and a mature control app. Its flexible upsampling and Leedh digital volume control add useful system-matching options, while the compact chassis and strong software support make it a long-term keeper. Confirm the remote, power lead and original packaging if those matter to you, but at this price it looks like a genuine opportunity rather than merely a fair listing.

Lumin traces its roots to Hong Kong's Pixel Magic Systems Ltd., established around 2004 as a specialist in video processing and upscalers. In 2012, leveraging expertise in software development, the company launched its first product under the Lumin brand: the A1, the world's inaugural DSD-capable network streamer. This pivotal debut marked Lumin's shift from video to high-fidelity audio, born from a conviction that existing streamers fell short of true potential.
The brand concentrates exclusively on premium network music players and streamers, eschewing amplifiers, speakers, or headphones in favor of dedicated digital transport solutions. Models like the flagship P2, compact P1 Mini, and expanding lineup of nine players integrate advanced digital and analog stages, prioritizing seamless streaming, natural sound reproduction, and ongoing software refinements for formats including DSD and high-resolution files.
Positioned firmly in the high-end audiophile market, Lumin commands respect for its exceptional build quality, stability, and immersive performance, with products designed and assembled in Hong Kong. Praised in industry reviews for redefining network playback, it appeals to discerning buyers seeking uncompromised digital sources that rival traditional hi-fi components.
