Nordost Frey 2 XLR interconnect 1 onlyMeasures 2.75mUnsure if this is the original or the V2 but has gold pins on XLRI have priced this but am interested in EOI.Thanks
This is a seller’s market, not a buyer’s one, at A$900: the price is clearly above the four-listing comparison set’s A$766 75th percentile and well above the A$643 median. That makes it ambitious for a standard used Frey interconnect, especially with condition listed as unknown; a compelling buy would sit closer to A$650–A$750, unless this is an unusually long, rare, or exceptionally complete example.
The Frey remains a well-regarded high-end cable, valued for its open, airy presentation, strong detail retrieval, dynamics, and flexible construction. Its silver-plated solid-core conductors, FEP insulation, and quality screw-down RCA terminations are genuine strengths, and a clean original-owner example with packaging could justify some premium. At A$900, though, insist on clear photos, confirmed length and RCA/XLR termination, connector condition, and provenance before considering it; otherwise, negotiating toward the median makes more sense.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Nordost, an American high-end audio brand, traces its origins to 1991 when it was founded in Massachusetts, just outside Boston. From the outset, the company committed to designing, engineering, and manufacturing all products exclusively in the United States, drawing on aerospace-derived technologies like conductor solutions to pioneer its signature flat cable geometry. This Northeast-rooted heritage—reflected even in the brand's name, meaning "northeast" in Scandinavian languages—has defined Nordost as a beacon of innovation in signal preservation for over three decades.
The brand specializes in premium hi-fi cables and accessories, including speaker cables, interconnects, digital cables, power cords, and video transmission lines. Nordost employs advanced techniques such as Micro Mono-Filament construction and mechanically tuned lengths to minimize distortion and maximize fidelity. Beyond cables, its lineup extends to power distribution systems, grounding solutions, and resonance control devices, forming a comprehensive ecosystem that enhances the entire audio chain without venturing into amplifiers, speakers, or turntables.
Renowned among audiophiles worldwide, Nordost occupies a premium niche in the high-end market, celebrated for revolutionary designs that deliver unadulterated sound. From accessible Leif series entry points to exotic Valhalla and Odin flagships, its products command respect in over 60 countries, positioning the brand as a go-to for discerning buyers seeking boundary-pushing performance and uncompromising quality.
