Unused and unopened pack of 6 "LARGE" myrtle wood blocks for equipment isolation. Bought for a project that never got going. 25mm x 40mm x 66mm
Notable as a simple, well-liked Cardas accessory rather than a transformative upgrade, these Myrtlewood Cuboids are a strong bargain at £40 GBP. That is comfortably below the £218 GBP 25th-percentile figure from eight recent comparable listings, and far below the £428 GBP median, so the asking price looks excellent if the listing represents a usable set.
Their appeal is flexibility: they can support components, create ventilation clearance, or provide a firm mechanical interface beneath lighter electronics. Myrtlewood’s dense, complex grain gives them a credible role in resonance control, though any sonic change is system-dependent and usually subtle. At this price, that caveat barely matters; check the number of blocks, size, and condition, but a clean complete set is an easy buy for experimenting with support tweaks.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Cardas Audio traces its roots to 1987, when George Cardas founded the company in Southern California, initially operating from a family garage in Ontario. Driven by a quest to perfect audio cables, he pioneered designs using ultra-pure materials, Golden Ratio resonance control, and solutions to transmission line issues. In 1992, the operation relocated to Bandon, a coastal town on Oregon's southern shore, where it remains headquartered and family-run, with George's daughter Angela now at the helm.
The brand specializes in premium audio cables, connectors, and component parts, emphasizing handmade craftsmanship and proprietary conductor geometries that minimize noise and resonance. While cables form the core—spanning interconnects, speaker wires, and power cords—Cardas has expanded to accessories, in-ear monitors, and even music releases, with their wire integrated into high-end speakers and electronics worldwide.
Positioned firmly in the high-end audiophile market, Cardas commands respect among discerning listeners, recording studios, and musicians for delivering transparent, fatigue-free sound. Their products grace the finest systems, embodying American ingenuity and a relentless pursuit of sonic purity that appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking boutique excellence over mass-market compromises.
