Seller's Description

Naim Audio Nap 250.2 Power Amplifier This is a great power amp. Produces the true Naim sound with great refinement and pace. Its successor, the new Nap 250, retails for AU$13,500.   Amp is in good condition. I used it to power my PMC Twenty5.26 until an upgrade. I'll throw in a DHLabs Silver Sonic 3-din to RCA connector cable as well.   In perfect working order. Joe from JLS Electronics (licensed Naim Service Centre) suggests that recapping is unnecessary for this item.         Condition: Excellent Payment Method: Paypal, EFT, Cash on Pickup Region/State: (QLD) Queensland/Australia By Earworm2

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

It's a buyer's market for used Naim power amps like the NAP250.2, with steady supply from upgrades chasing newer models. At AUD 2,300 for unknown condition, this sits smack in the fair zone—our recent comps show a median of AUD 2,271 (25th percentile AUD 2,246, 75th AUD 2,753), so no steal but not overpriced if it's solid.

Buyers, verify the condition first: check for the common NAP250.2 heat sink issues or degraded output transistors, which can fail after 15+ years. Insist on original remote sensing leads and power cord included, plus service history—test it with your preamp for clean dynamics before committing.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Naim Audio

Naim Audio, a cornerstone of British hi-fi excellence, traces its origins to 1973 when Julian Vereker, a self-taught engineer, racing driver, and music enthusiast, formally incorporated the company in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Vereker's journey began earlier, in 1969, experimenting with tape recording and sound-to-light boxes before designing his first power amplifier in 1971. Amid the British hi-fi industry's recession, he secured a pivotal contract with Capital Radio, blending entrepreneurial grit with a passion for authentic sound reproduction that challenged conventional wisdom.

The brand specializes in premium integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, digital streamers, DACs, and compact music systems, often featuring built-in amplification for streamlined setups. While not delving into speakers—beyond a historical foray—or headphones and turntables, Naim emphasizes modular, upgradable components that prioritize pace, rhythm, and timing (PRaT), a signature sonic philosophy rooted in the "source first" approach alongside contemporaries like Linn.

Naim holds a commanding position in the high-end market, revered by discerning audiophiles for its handmade, innovative systems that deliver emotional musical engagement over mere specifications. Now part of VerVent Audio Group following a 2011 merger with Focal, it exports to over 45 countries, sustaining a cult following for resilient, influential designs that transcend economic cycles.
